Speaking, listening, leadership - We all aspire to develop these skills that can help us lead productive, fulfilling, harmonious lives. Toastmasters provides the perfect platform for imbibing and imparting such skills.

ORATION 2012, the first annual conference of our young District 41 will be a vibrant testimonial to how the Toastmasters program can help us evolve as speakers, listeners and leaders.

A year ago, when Toastmasters from across India and Sri Lanka converged in Mysore for OVATION 2011 - the last annual conference of the consolidated District 82, there was a palpable aura of something historic about to happen. We had gone forth and multiplied as the biblical injunction commands and our Toastmasters family had become so large, it was time to regroup into more manageable units. We came as one district to Mysore and left as two. District 41 was conceived and formally came into existence when the new term began on July 1, 2011.

The year has flown by rapidly and District 41 has gone from being a nascent fledgling taking tentative steps to being a confident contender, soaring high along with older, well-established districts from across the world. With over 100 clubs and 3500 members, we continue to bloom and grow as more and more people discover the benefits we get from the empowering experiential education we receive as Toastmasters.

The ORATION 2012 conference agenda is replete with plentiful opportunities to connect, communicate, learn and enjoy. A host of educational sessions have been planned with eloquent speakers and talented trainers. District business meetings will be conducted to review the year and elect leaders for the coming term. The Table Topics contest will challenge the quickest-witted speakers of the district to speak extempore. The exhilarating International Speech Contest will feature the most talented orators of the district, vying to be the winner who will travel to the US in August to represent District 41 at the World Championship of Public Speaking. And through the entire event, there will be occasions to mingle with Toastmasters from across the district and beyond.

We are specially privileged to have the opportunity to interact with Toastmasters International President Michael Notaro who is coming all the way from California to attend the event!

India’s capital city New Delhi is the ideal location for the first annual conference of District 41. Capitalize on the opportunity to attend. Be a part of ORATION 2012.

Speak, listen, lead!
